As for the illness, unfortunately some things just aren't to do with bacteria :( My mum had a similar problem as you but without the blood and it turned out to be problems with the gall bladder... she had it removed.

As for Eevee it really depends what you want for adds. Problem is Hamantha is interested in everything small I have which is favoured by other people for her ShinyStaryu (?).
And I'd rather have the Star than anything else around on TPPC :(
