actually train and bus is fine as well , its just that with a car you are independent , but its all duable
if you plan it all out ahead , I don't see why not :)

well depends on where you are
like in the south east germany you can drive through Austria and switzerland if you drive around the Bodensee >.<
but if you go further through switzerland you can visit Lichtenstein on your way to Italy
if you drive through Austria you could visit Hungary as well
if you are in the south west of germany you also can do switzerland but also Italy and france
if you are in the north of germany you could do denmark or even poland and skandinavia or to the west Holland and luxemburg
it all depends on how much time you have :)
